17 months

My oh my, how time flies!!!!

Brody, I cannot believe
that you are 17 months today. You have brought so much joy to our lives and we are so glad God chose us to be your parents. You are a funny, sweet, easy going boy but very curious and busy busy busy!

You weigh 25lbs and are 31inches tall. That's half as tall as your mommy!! Ha! You are wearing 12-18 months clothes, size 4 or 5 shoes and size 4 diapers. You have a pretty good routine and your favorite things right now are your trains, balls, shapes box and Mickey Mouse. You say dada, momma, yes, this, that and on occasion Jack, dog, please. We have heard you say Papa a few times but you haven't mastered it just yet. You have your own way of saying drink when you are thirsty and trying to get us to know so. You also love to read! You will go in your room to get a book any chance you can.

We can't wait to see how much you grow this coming month!!

New Year... New looks

Let me start by saying, I've still been quite the slacker. I just downloaded the blogpress app in hopes I may get some more blogging done from here on out.

So it's a new year and for almost everyone this means new things. New goals, new looks, and all those resolutions. I have started back to the gym and eating right. I've decided to make that lifestyle change again since it kind of got away from our family when we had Brody. I have promised myself to lose 25 pounds this year. That will put me back at the healthy weight from when getting married.

Also, in this new year we decided to finally work on our kitchen and give it an updated look. My husband has been working so hard this week and has painted cabinets, closed in an extra window with shelves and a place to hang our wine glasses and put down new baseboard. Now we just have to pick a wall color and start on them. Here is the new area which also shows the new color of cabinets. I am in LOVE with this!!


In the excitement of today and all things paint, my sweet little man started running a fever. We took him to the doctor only to find out.... He has strep. This is round two in the past six months and we don't even use daycare yet! We got some scripts, had some cuddle time and he will hopefully be back to normal in the morning!

We can't let a post go without his sweet face, so here is what he has been up to lately. Fun at the park enjoying this fabulous weather!!

WHAT A SLACKER

Wow, what a slacker I have been.

We have gone from this sweet three month old......

To this handsome fella who will be 16 months tomorrow!!!!

I have no idea where the time has gone, but boy has it been fun!!! In the past year we traveled, learned lots of new things and enjoyed being a family of three.

We took two short vacations to Branson and Birmingham as well as a long vacation to the beach. Brody was great on all three trips and I can't wait to see what the future of travel holds for our little family.

Brody started walking the friday before Halloween and talks non-stop but in a few words. His favorite things to say are: Dada, yes, this, that and occasionally Mama, Please, and Jack. Severel people have heard him say dog but I have never caught this. He is INTO EVERY SINGLE THING his little hands can get to. Our poor Christmas tree has lost a few ornamanets this year to a more than curious toddler.

Brody loves loves loves to read and I catch him sitting quietly with a book in his room quite often. His favorite toys right now are his ball pit and his legos. He has just begun to put his leggos together but is quick to take them apart as well. We have eight teeth and two coming in at the moment and these last two have wrecked havoc on our sleep!! He loves to open and close things and would play in the drawers all day if we would allow it. Let's just say my boy is ALL BOY and there is never a dull moment in our home.

Christmas is just a few days away and we are looking forward to spending it together and with the rest of our family.

Happy 3 months Brody!!

Happy THREE months Brody ( and three days)!!!

You are such a HAPPY sweet baby. People tell us all the time we are lucky but we don't have to hear that to know how blessed we are to have you in our lives. You are such a good little man for us. You still sleep all night and are only fussy when you are hungry, gassy or hot. This week you had a tooth break through. A little too early, according to me but it's exciting nontheless.

You weigh around 14lbs

You wear size 0-3 months and a few 3-6months

You are in size 1-2 diapers

You love to laugh and smile all the time and we love that!!

You also love to watch football with your daddy and he is loving that.

Happy 2 months Brody!!!!

Happy 2 months Baby Boy!!! Mommy and Daddy love you very much!!!

Here's what you are up to:

- you weigh around 11 pounds but will get your actual weight at the doctor next week

- you sleep in your own room now and LOVE it

- you sleep from around 9 - 6 or 10-7 without waking up these days

- you eat around 5-6, 5oz bottles a day and get a tiny bit of rice in your last bottle before bed

- you smile and laugh ALL THE TIME and I love that

- you still look just like your daddy and he loves that

- you have started using your Bebe Pod seat and seem to enjoy it

- you wear 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers

- your going to be a ghost for halloween

- you like going to the gym with mom and dad and looking at all the lights

- now for the big one... you will be attending your fist Razorback game this weekend

You are so special and I can't imagine what life would be like without you!

Do I still have a blog?

It's been so long since I've posted that I didn't know if I still had a blog. I'm not sure I even remember what all has been going on to give you an update. So I'll start here...

- TODAY Brody turned 2 months old!!! Really, I have a two month old? (pictures to come later when he wakes up!)

- I went back to work last Monday and it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated once things got rolling and we adjusted to a new routine.

- We went to the pumpkin patch...see below

- We had a few playdates

- I started Bootcamp at the gym

- Brody moved to his own room and is doing great sleeping ALL NIGHT LONG without a fight!!

- We have introduced a VERY TINY amount of rice cereal in his last bottle but did without the past two nights because he was so sleepy

- He has learned to sit up in his Bebe Pod seat and LOVES IT!!!!

- Next week we have two month shots and his weigh in, so sad

- Saturday we are supposed to go to the AR vs Ole Miss game so we are praying for no rain since we are taking the little man, if it rains we will not go : (
